Cannot install 1.1 RC 11
I have successfully installed and used version 1.0 of Barebones CMS. I am starting a new project, and thought I would install and use RC 11 of 1.1 instead.
However, the installation does not complete. I get though all of the screen, using the same settings as with 1.0, but on the last screen after I click on the "Install" link, nothing happens. No error messages, not status messages, and the installation does not work. I believe the following line in my apache server error.log is relevant: [Wed Jan 18 14:06:20 2012] [error] [client 192.168.3.100] PHP Warning: posix_getsid() expects exactly 1 parameter, 0 given in /home/shared/customer_files/BlindLineFarms/2012-01_site/support/ random.php on line 85, referer: http://blindlinefarms/install.php I will continue to use 1.0 for now, but thought you might like know about the issue before releasing 1.1. I am running PHP 5.3.8. |

RE: Cannot install 1.1 RC 11
Thanks for the heads up. The error/warning indicates a bug in CSPRNG 1.0 RC1 running on a *NIX host. This probably isn't the only issue preventing installation. The installer is one of the last things I thoroughly test because I tend to make changes to it right up to the final release.
If you really want to run against 1.1 RC11, you can always try the upgrade route - install 1.0 and then upgrade to 1.1 RC11. That will bypass the changes made to the installer. My release schedule for 1.1 is still a few months away. Author of Barebones CMS If you found my reply to be helpful, be sure to donate! All funding goes toward future product development. |

RE: Cannot install 1.1 RC 11
I finally got around to confirming this problem in 1.1 RC13 and figured out what is wrong with the installer. 1.1 RC14 is now available. The installer appears to work fine now.
