Forums are back + status update
First off, I'm back and the forums are also back. Yay!

Now for an end-of-year analysis. The past year has been a bit rough. I always try to bite off more than I can chew project-wise just so I won't run out of stuff to do. I started off the 2011 year attempting to work on a slightly expensive project (requires spending $$$$) I've been wanting to do for years. Then I got sidetracked once I reached the point where I needed Barebones CMS but discovered Barebones CMS 1.0 was broken. So, as you know, I spent several months working on Barebones CMS 1.1 and fixing things up again so I can actually use it with the aforementioned project.

I also created and released CSPRNG 1.0 - the first cross-platform random number/string generator for PHP that actually works on multiple hosts. I also did some updates of Admin Pack and the other tools as issues came up.

BUT before I could continue to build the project I started the year off with, I needed and still need another new project to be in a usable state. This a new open source project that will sit on this site, which is the reason why you haven't seen any updates for a while. I don't generally discuss what I'm working on until I hit a release cycle. I've been working on the new project already for several months as time permits.

Finally, November and December are always hectic with limited coding time.

So that was 2011. What's in store for 2012? I suppose you could call this list my "New Year's Resolutions":

  1. Release Barebones CMS 1.1. I'm actually sitting on a new RC of Barebones CMS 1.1 that contains full multilingual admin support.
  2. Release Admin Pack 1.0. It has been at RC for a LONG time.
  3. I'll also complete that brand new open source project and release it.
  4. I want to start doing some better marketing of this CMS without having to expend a lot of my time. I found a possible set of tools to help me here.
  5. Move websites to a new server.
  6. Finish up the new project I've had on the back burner for months now.
  7. Redesign an old website using Barebones CMS. The design is done, but I have prerequisite projects to do first.
  8. Work on a new website for personal use - probably using Admin Pack.

That should be more than plenty to do.

RE: Forums are back + status update
I'm still alive and programming. The new project is coming along nicely but I'm finding I have to constantly keep the scope creep in check. I'm also nitpicking every feature to death complete with tons of second-guessing that ends up just being very minor tweaks, which is part of why it is taking so long.
